Screen guards are a great solution to protect against scratches and scuffs. Fortunately, newer laptops and notebooks are coming with scratch resistant screens. This was bound to happen as more of them are touch screens and come equipped with a pen stylus. However, those with older laptops who wish to protect their screen for as long as possible, using a screen guard is the way to go. I also recommend cleaning the screen with a dry microfibre cloth for those that don't want to use a screen guard. It will get rid of dust build up without scratching the screen.

To be frank I have never seen a screen guard for a laptop. Thanks for updating.

There is no doubt that screen guard can protect your laptop from scratches and other issues. We can easily install it without any support. But it is essential to ensure that surface is clean before putting the screen guard. Even a tiny dust particle can pass air between the surface and screen guard which can build air packs in between. S, if you are not comfortable in installing it, take the help of a professional because once applied it is not possible to redo it.

I have never used any type of screen guard for my Laptop. I am using it regularly and after use, I always clean it. Also, I clean the place where my laptop is stored. There is no chance for my laptop getting dust or scratches on it. Most of the time my laptop is only used by me. That's why I sue it with extreme care because my important data is inside. Even if somebody uses my Laptop, I advise them to do it with care.

You can also do this and there will be no need to use a screen guard or screen protector. Your Laptop will be free from scratches and effects of dust. But for the back of the laptop, a sticker or something like that should be used, in order to avoid dust and pollution from it.

I absolutely agree with you. There is no need of a screen guard for a laptop as we never even touch the screen. It may be required for a smartphone as we keep it in pocket and it may come into contact with hard materials sometimes. So, a screen guard can save it from minor scratches. Screen guard is a must for smartphones and tablets that work on touch interface to keep it clean and also as a scratch guard.

But if your laptop (2-in-1 laptops) has a touchscreen, you may consider having a screen guard to save it from getting dirty. A quality screen guard for a laptop screen will be costly.
