Default please rate this laptop.. and answer few questions...

guys.. look at the following configuration and tell me hows the laptop??

i am mostly looking for fast performance, looks and also stability and COMPATIBILITY.

    DELL STUDIO 1558.
    WINDOWS 7 64BIT
    INTEL CORE i5 PROCESSOR M430 2.27Ghz
    4GB RAM
    500 GB HARD DISK
    DVD DRIVE

My major doubt is this system is 64 bit.. i doubt about 32 bit applications. Many of my applications are not compatible. any ways? any solution?
some ppl say that 64 bit systems are more faster than 32 bit but i dont see any difference in this.. as i also have 32 bit.. can someone clarify on this??

another thing is about the graphic card.. though its not something special gaming card.. but i think its fairly decent. it gives me graphic index score overall for 4.5 in windows.

can anyone tell me what kind of games i can plaY good enough and smoothly without any lag and hanged pc.....

and lastly hows about i5?? is it good?? i mean i have already core 2 duo in my other system.. is it better?? marketing is always like paying high for newer chips and processor.. but this is just i think price for LABEL..

post ur comments and views.... thanks....

Don't go for Windows 7 64 as of now, you can get Windows 7 32bit.

If I was in your place, I would stay with the 64 bit edition only since you have 4 GB RAM. It will same from many future upgrades. As far as I know more than 98% 32-bit apps work with the 64-bit edition. Please tell the apps which are not compatible, we will find a way around for it.
64-bit Windows's benefit comes forward when you use many apps at the same time(say for eg 6-10 memory intesive apps working at once)
see review here: Windows 7: 64 bit vs 32 bit? - Windows 7 . Source for the link : essbebe
    Google search:
    32 bit or 64 bit.

Presently, I am having core-i5 750 and it is doing wonders for me. Great performance leap from the dual-core setup.

i think urs is 750.. mine is 430. dont know what this numbers indicate.. but surely urs will be better...!! lol

the program i m planning is of 3d imaging softwared for medical things..

they have provided the patch for 64 bit.. but i dont know how to use it...

i mean its an exe file but how to use? should i install it before and than install the application?? or after installing i should apply patch?? i tried the later one.. but still the program is unsatble..

and the problem is when i 1st instal 32 bit application... the set up wont finish.. it hangs... so dont know what to do for it.

Start with Call of Duty:Modern Warfare, Batman:Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age, Assasin's creed, Borderlands and Fallout 3.

For difference between 430 and 750 Intel Core i5 Processor Details
If they have provided you a 64 bit patch and it is not working as it is required, you should try contacting their support.
Otherwise you can use Windows XP mode if you have Windows 7 professional or higher(XP mode installs 32-bit version of XP)

I think u have got a good system and as far as windows 64 bit goes shouldn't hurt your performance.

I 5 430 with its turbo boost should rock... but as far as graphics goes, intel HD just offers pedestrian performances in gaming...But HD playback should be good.

    I doubt batman ark-hum asylum would smoothly...COD3 , POP2t, AC3 should run fine....

I configure my laptop in a random way, but never find such problems. Am I too lucky?
