Default Which Laptop should i buy among these ? Urgent...

I am Abhishek from Pune. I am looking to purchase a Laptop for my Wife who is doing PG in a College.
Purpose is mostly for Seminar and Project Work and for normal Surfing and watching Movies occasionally. Gaming is of least Priority. It should also be a bit light in weight. I have shortlisted the following Laptops and wanted to know which would be my best bet taking into consideration the Specs, Performance, Build Quality, Reliability and After Sales Service.

    1) Acer Aspire 4745
    i3 2.26, 3 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, Win 7 HB - 34,990 /-

    2) Acer TimelineX 4820T
    i3 2.13, 3 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, Win 7 HP - 37,000 /-

    3) Dell Inspiron 14R
    i3 2.26, 3 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, Win 7 HB - 36,900 /-

I was initially inclined towards the DELL but have read many horror stories of DELL's Build Quality and After Sales Service Issues. While surfing the Web for reviews i checked this Mouthshut Link and Users have reported many DELL Issues of late.
Also, some Reviews of Inspiron in their own Dell India Website is not that Good.
Has their Build Quality and Service deteriorated of late ?
I do not know how is Acer compared to DELL in that respect.
DELL's extended Warranty is also very Costly. Don't know about Acer.

DELL does charge a Premium while you get the same Specs for a Bit lesser Price in Acer.
Also, is Win 7 Home Basic good enough or i should go for Home Premium ?

I found the Acer TimelineX 4820T quite value for Money and good in Design and Specs. It also has very Good Reviews from Review Sites over the Internet.

Please post your valuable suggestions as i will be purchasing a Laptop in a couple of Days. It's Urgent.

You may opt for the Netbook too. It's almost half the price. Only movie viewing may suffer. But hey, aren't people watching stuffs on the mobiles and i-pads. A Computer can't beat the experience of theaters or even LCDs.
You may have to use Windows XP on it.

Yes, Acer is value for money.

If you're purchasing a laptop with Windows 7, go for the Home Premium. Home Basic is no better than XP. And why not pay some more if you're spending a fortune for a configuration which can support better performance and visual experience?

Did you consider Sony Vaio EB series . you get a i3 330, 3GB RAM, ATI 5145(512MB Card) for 38k its light, stylish and good value for money. as none of these laptops have a dedicated graphics and are heavy. this would be a good buy. My friend had bought this 4 months back and no trouble till now!!

At a difference of 2000 Dell is surely the better bargain, with onsite conplete coverage warranty. ( CC includes accidental damage). And ask the dealer if there is any 14R model i3 with Windows 7 Home Premium.

among these three go with any Acer model. I personally have never been satisfied with Dell laptops, always faced some nagging problems with it.

Btw i have four Acer laptops in my family and never faced any major glitch with it.

Now, Acer is providing onsite warranty in many cities. Bangalore is one of them. Check it out in your city too.

Well, I prefer Dell as the laptop. The reason is that it is the famous brand name in the laptop. Another main thing is that its battery life claims made by manufacturers vary, and a comparison based on spec sheets as optimum time duration among others laptop.
