Thread: want to buy a laptop

well i m all set to but a laptop.. and m down to making a decision out of the 3.. please if u could help me with that..
1. dell xps 14/15
2. sony viao (i5 processor, 4 gb ram, 500gb hard disk and dedicated graphics card 1gb)
3. hp (next gen i7 processor, rest config same as sony)

Its better you give your requirements. It's of no use to buy a hi-fi lappy beyond your requirements.

Brand wise I always insist on DELL for their build and customer support.

well the purpose for buying is purely for professional use.. to run only my high end apps.. purely work related... no time pass stuff to be done from the laptop.. for all that i have my desktop..

My budget is 40 k or less. I want a branded laptop with the following features.
processor i3 or i5, hard disc 500gb or more, 3gb ram, 15 inch display, webcam, wifi, dvd writer, usb slots. Purposes are to access internet, watch movies and purely personal use. I am not sure whether I want a graphics card or not. Pls suggest some good models.

Then go for DELL inspiron. IF you buy under the name of a central govt employee or some tie up companies with DELL, you get some discount further.

@googs9 : well to answer your question, u can get great deals with dell aspiron series on i3 even upto as low as 34k(without the graphic card), if u can extend a bit and want to go for sony, then there too ul get great deals with i3 processor at 41k(wihtout graphic card). i guess both the products are with 4gb ram and all other things that u are lookng for.

Undoubtedly, the Dell XPS..i feel sony is kinda overrated(just a personal opinion)..dell machines are powerfully built..plus the customer support is great..
