Thread: Laptop Battery life span is shorten

I have reload my laptop OS from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and I noticed that my laptop battery life spam is shorten. Is that because Windows 7 take more resources than Windows Vista?

Guess what, my laptop can only last 5min if unplug. It is very inconvenient. I used to change the battery but it was not compatible. My laptop totally cannot operate when plugin the new battery. I have to charge my laptop every time.

this is an old issue which appeared when windows 7 was first released. please update your version of the .net framework, or install windows 7 service pack 1.

this resolves the battery life problems that windows 7 laptops face.

This happens mainly due to unnecessary processess initiated by windows 7 which run in background.
open task manager and try to find unnecessary processes and terminate them.
if u dont want them then simply remove from startup using msconfig.

while replacing new battery please make sure the model numbers and voltage ranges are exactly same as they might cause some motherboard related problems.
check to see if all the vents on the bottom and sides of the lappy are clean and clear from dust. As dust gets piled up the fan on processor needs to ru more fastly and consumes lot of power.
so allow the hot air to vent-out easily..

windows 7 is volume wise more heavier than vista.. by the way, i thought Vista was sick and windows 7 is normal.. well maybe you have opened stuff like bluetooth and wifi..

dont run lappy more than 5 hours daily..
always put on charge when working if possible.

For those who are planning to buy a new laptop and want a long battery life, I would like to tell you all that you should buy a netbook instead of a notebook. Netbooks are available at half the price of a notebook but they give more than double battery life than that of a notebook as they use less power. My 1 year old netbook is still giving me 6 hours of battery backup.

it has nothing to do with windows 7 check your battery wear
download software batterybar or
google about battery wear
battery wear is nothing but slow degradation of battery
u must have played games while not using charger ....
