    Exclamation Need Opinion on Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 Laptop !!!

    Hello Friends,

    I am planning to buy Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 59-067790? and here are the specs:

    * 15.6" HD LED Glare
    * Intel® Core™ i3-2310M Processor(3M Cache, 2.10 GHz)
    * 3 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz Ram
    * 640 GB Hard Disk
    * HDMI port
    * Bluetooth 2.1
    * Camera
    * 5-in-1 card reader
    * Intel® GMA HD
    * LAN
    * Intel® 6200 AGN Wireless
    * 6 Cell Battery
    * Ergonomic Keyboard
    * Metallic Grey Colour
    * 1 Year on-site warranty
    * DOS

    I am going for this model as I am planning to install Win XP SP3. I use only for surfing, movie watching, music, basic documentation work (MS WORD), etc. I don't play hi-fi games.

    The following are the queries I wanted to know regarding this model:

    1. This is the first time I am going for Lenovo IdeaPad laptop. May I know your opinion especially this model in terms of Performance, Quality, Battery life, etc? I am Toshiba Satellite now which is 4 years old, still rough and tough. Can I expect the same for this model?

    2. Any issues in this model so far? ?In terms of hardware, battery, etc?

    3. What is the battery back-up I can expect? It says upto 5 hours in site. Can I expect minimum 3 hours?

    4. As informed, I am going to install Win XP SP3, will I face any issues due to this OS? Is this model compatible with Win XP SP3? Are drivers available?

    Correct me if I am wrong, I have been told that I will get less battery back-up in Win XP than Win 7, and also system will be slow compared to Win 7. Is this correct? Any disadvantage I will face?

    I need your expert advice and opinion to take this further. Kindly let me know at the earliest.

    Regards,

    VAS

    Default Need Opinion on Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 Laptop !!!

    Don’t worry my friend you are going to make a right choice because it has been one the best models of Lenovo. Your queries regarding to the performance and battery life are good but as this a new model so there not so much information about this model. Notebooks in India don’t create so much problem you can also use windows 7, it really works good.

    I bought a toshiba notebook (Toshiba T130 - 16W) (without the cd drive) and the processor is a lot slower then the one you are looking to buy with 3gb ram and I have win7 home pre installed on it and it runs like a charm for the simple tasks I use it for and it has a good 8 hour plus battery backup so I assume windows 7 is a safe bet for a notebook with specs you have mentioned and wont be a resource hog that some people say it is.

    In my opinion Lenovo/IBM has better quality products as compared to Toshiba but Toshiba has really scored on the battery backup front this time. I am happy with the Toshiba notebook I got and the main two reasons I got it was its battery life and the price.

    you won't be able to use intel HD graphics support for HD video playback under XP as intel drivers support this feature only on vista & windows 7.when running XP HD videos will be decoded purely by processor without any use of intel HD graphics.

    Hi

    Is it possible to install SRS Premium Sound software in Win XP? I checked in Lenovo site and it is available only for Win7. What are the differences I would face without this software?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Vas
