    Default Laptop from USA

    Hello,
My brother is coming from US and is bringing a Hp laptop for me. my query is:

    1. here in India we have 230volts while in US it is 110volts. do I need to buy any extra cord/adapter etc? I suppose the socket pin is different and i have to buy a plug-converter which costs 20-30 INR. do i need to do anything for the cord (the cord in the lappy is marked 125v while here any cord is marked 250 v)

    2. Do i need to do anything extra for the warranty (like filing any online form or calling HP support etc) so that it be honored in India.

    3. any other things to check?

    thanking you all in advance.

As the plug will be U.S type an adapter plug required.
Power supply usually input 100V~to 240V~ output 19.5V=D.C say 3.9 amps

If purchased on Credit card International warranty is
available ( usually for double the period ) Check this out.

Do not pack the laptop in checked-in Boxes. Bring as hand baggage.
( All boxes to be kept unlocked for security reasons)
IGI airport : I lost one laptop when transferring to JetAir.in Delhi airport.

@ essbebe and mickey really appreciate the valuable inputs.

ya it has got the standard hp power adapters (110V-240v). but the power cord reads 125v. will that be of any concern. here all my cords (desktop hp printer etc reads 250V) ya i do understand i need to buy an adapter plug as it is US type.

    ya bought it from newegg.
