I would like to buy a laptop with following requirements..

i5 processor
Minimum 500GB
4GB RAM
Minimum 14inch screen
Cost Within Rs.25000
2Ghz speed
DVD - RW
Windows 7 Home Basic
Webcam

Core I3 -first generation with out OS is selling around 24.5k.
If you are lucky wou will get Core I5 with out OS around 27-28k.

Intel B940/B950 with win7 Home basic is selling around Rs 25600.

I bought a LENOVO G570 laptop with B950 processor with out OS @ 22600 -10 days ago.

Now the price is 1000 rs more.

You said "home needs". You have not specifically said "what needs"? Browsing? Games? Downloads? Work from home?

Perhaps a netbook woth Rs. 15k may be more than sufficient?

now lenovo's ideapad s205 is the best in config and performance.
at very cheap rate.
