Suggest me a laptop to buy around 40 - 45 K . I am confused whether to opt for Dell or Sony .

My Specifications are :

Processor : Intel i5 / i7
RAM : 6 GB / 8 GB
HDD : 750 GB
Display : 15.6 " HD
Dedicated Graphics : 2 GB

I would suggest going for Ultrabooks....

Acer Aspire S3 is a good option..

For a peace of mind, I would go with Dell. Not that Sony is bad but Dell's support network is better.

However, I doubt whether you will get a laptop of the specs you desire at the price budget you mentioned. At your budget, you may get a laptop with i5, 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, 15" display and (maybe) 1 GB graphics card.

Dell's Alienware models fit the description that you want and typically cost 70,000+. Sony models are always slightly costly compared to Dell for the same configuration.

If Sony VAIO has a local service center in your city, you may go for it. Else opt for Dell.

For value of money, Acer is the best. It has service centers in all the cities. In my family and friends, whoever bought Acer 4-6 years back, didn't need to buy another laptop again yet... And I can count 5 of them, including mine.

Don't forget Lenovo...

They have a very good range of laptops and their support is awesome.
