    Default Laptops i3 Vs i5

I have shortlisted the following HP laptops...confused between the what to choose between these two..
    1. HP Pavilion G6-2105tx – 15.6” (3rd Gen Intel Core i3 Processor i3-331OM (dual-Core) 2.4 GHz,
ATI Radeon 7670M dedicated graphics with 2GB RAM)

    2. HP Pavilion G6-2103tu – 15.6” (3rd Gen Intel Core i5 Processor i5-321OM (dual-Core) 2.4 GHz,
    Intel HD Graphics 4000

    Both are around 40k.
Is it better to select i3 + ATI graphics with 2GB RAM or i5 processor with intel HD graphics 4000.

    Please help..thanks

In this case within i3 and i5 i will go with the i3 because it has 4mb level catch with 8 threads which give you a bit better performance as the both have same clock speed and same number of cores. Where i5 has 3 mb level 3 cache with 4 threads.
In graphics matter maximum time it is found that a machine with dedicated graphics performs better than integrated graphics. So ati is better.

You need to choose a laptop base on your current and future needs. If you're only going to be emailing, surfing, writing and doing some light web-design - the i3 based laptop will provide ample performance. Since this particular i3 comes with an ATI graphics card, you can also do some serious gaming on it. I'm actually quite surprised that the meatier i5 didn't come with a comparable graphics card as that would make for a more ideal games machine.
