Default How many Linux users here?

    Hi,
I wanted to know many linux users are here?

also please share your experiences with linux, like how you got first used to it?

    lemme start first,
I started using linux around may 2007.
the inspiration was my friend who dumped his windows saying that "Using linux is better than using Pirated Windows". my first distro was Ubuntu.

    currently, i am using Archlinux
since them i am using linux

I Am Too crazzy for using Linux, recently I have started working with LINUX MINT 5.0
the best thing i like in linux is that it is free of viruses, secondly it is very fast OS, thirdly No need to Install drivers for Graphic, sound, Lan, etc And you can do lot of activities as compare to windows OS
Just Now I am a beginner but i enjoying myself with linux, having some great experiences like sudo, root etc

Another linux lover over here. Had to learn it as part of my job requirements and still have lots and loads to learn with regards to linux. Tons of help is available online and this was what which had motivated me to move ahead with the quest of mastering linux.

My advice to beginers would also be the same. Once u decide to try linux, make sure u get connected online first. Then whatsoever problems arise, such do google query for it. Matter will be resolved within minutes.

I use Ubuntu at home and Fedora/Ubuntu at workplace.

I too use Linux same as above Uuntu at Home and Fedora at work ...... I really like the customisability it offers ...For a free OS its very impressive [all distros]
What i liked about Ubuntu is the fact that evry single problem can be solved with the help of forums and Independent Devolopers

I mean once i had a problem installing this theme i had downloaded from Genome Look .... I just went there registered and posted my problem straight to the theme developer himself ..... he helped me out and the problem was solved ! ...So thats an advantage when an OS has community support

mac-on-pc or Hackint0sh is problematic, it was tons of driver & other integration problem.

Overall the experience is no where near to using an actual mac. so i you want to try a mac, head straight to iStore

If all drivers work, then you are indeed lucky!

waise, still you have figure out two-three kinds of distros and see whats works perfectly.
macbook is cool & sexy but i always find apple products are priced at a premuim.

    they are not VFM.

I am using linux since 2000. I have used most of the popular distros like Opencalerada, Redhat, Fedora OpenSUSE, Debian, Knopix, PCQLinux, etc. Whenever I got a new disro I will try to have a feel of it (Most of the distro I get from PCQuest companion DVDs, I am subscriber since 1987) Currently I am using Mandriva 2009 free edition as this has all the necessary packages complete with all development packages like eclipse (java), kdeveloper (C/C++), ...,etc. I am using this distribution as my children can use the system just like windows and many education/science/geogrphy are available in the main distro ifself. Also the configuration/setup of anything is a breeze. This is redhat based distro with KDE or GNOME as default desktop.
