Kopete has a beta branch, so don't know about that.
But I think wine+gtalk could work. I'm not VERY sure but I think I'd seen it on wine's listed apps.

Wine+gtalk didnt work for me as i couldnt see any text on my gtalk except blank buttons .
You can use Skype. It's available for Windows and Linux. If you are using Ubuntu 8.10 64bit version, check this page for help.

Yeah, skype works like a dream on Ubuntu!
Skype is the best Voice chat avilable out there.. Go pick it up
