Don't put blind remarks. If you know how to install program in windows, then the simplest method to try Ubuntu is "wubi". if you are not experienced then try with wubi (its little bit slow) then go for a normal installation . The installation process is well documented and not much difficult.

If u want almost virus free internet usage then I suggest Ubuntu

    For beginners

-> mess around with the live cd and get used to the Operating system .... exploring is fun

-> Read a little bit about file system organization in Ubuntu

-> you can install it within windows or as a separate OS ( A bit difficult)

-> Use it along with your windows OS initially .... try to migrate your tasks one by one (like web surfing) to Linux slowly ...... u may finally end up uninstalling windows too !

-> and use an easy to use linux distro like Ubuntu or Fedora at first

That was put really well Shadow! :14:

Just as Shadow said, messing around and exploring are the first steps towards success.
