| yes install an anti virus (most popular vendors have a linux version ...some free like their windows counter parts) and scan your windows drives using it .... Linux anti viruses are geared towards removing viruses that effect windows since most servers use a linux OS to operate whose client computers use windows .......... |

Rep Power: 1 | clamav is part of Mandriva free (should be installable on other distros). You can try that, but I cannot understand what you are trying to solve. My assumption is you want to remove virus from your windows installation from linux as linux is not affected and you have a dual boot system. If my assumption is not true, please give further info so that myself OR somebody else from this forum can help. |

Rep Power: 1 | Some months ago my pen drive was infected by trojan, it created folder called New folder.exe on my pen drive.... I have scanned it with many well known anti-virus available for windows...(avast, AVG, norton, quickheal, kaspersky, and many other) but no luck..... I even formatted my pen drive 10 drives.... but no use.... Then I booted from Live CD of UBUNTU...... and then just simply deleted the file....... whoo......... the virus is gone............. |

| plug in your flash drive into his ubuntu .... You ll be able to see all the viruses most of them as .exe files... Some of them may require you to change permissions before deleting them you dont need an anti virus for flash drive viruses you can also ask ur friend to back up your files in Ubuntu and then format your drive before putting back all your files If you format your pen drive .... all data will be cleared (including viruses) Last edited by ShAdOwCoN; 08-16-09 at 02:51 PM.
