after searching thru i have decided to switch to a different browser
it seems the latest ff version 3.5 is actually a backport for both jaunty and intrepid ... so thats disappointing ...it was released for karmic koala and will feature as its default browser ... so dont want some crappy port
cant decide if i should choose opera or flock ?
i though, flock itself is made from Fx.
as for opera , there are no add-on support.
Firefox is not remembering password even after "Remember passwords for sites" in Tools/Edit-> Options-> Security-> ?
Flock is basically modified Firefox (like Azures & Vuze). I didn't find it any better than Firefox.
Try Opera 10 beta 2. You can also use Opera's the urlfilter in Linux.
Are you guys talking about passwords stored in the browser? specifically FF?
Aren't storing password on your computer or anywhere insecure unless encrypted? Why are you doing it if it is not ?
There is a limited number of add on support for Opera ... all made by the dev team of opera ... as opposed to independent developers for ff
so i went to their site ... downloaded the .deb package
double click = install
looks better than FF
changed skin
pleasently surprised to find wand (auto login feature) comes as part of the browser .... looking thru the add ons now
Roboform and such programs encrypt pssword before storage
must be the same case with FF's default password manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
try roboform in windows
you ll Thank (and hopefully rep) me
I don't know much about Linux, but I use an add-on called the Password exporter. It is a nifty little plugin which can export and improt passwords. Recently I uninstalled FF entirely including user settings. But before I did that, I had exported all of my passwords to an XML file. When I re-installed FF, installed this add-on and imported the XML file...worked without any issues.

does it work on 7100RC1?
unfortunately roboform doesn't work with opera. I tried it once and removed it coz of that.
opera in Linux ......... Ubuntu 8.10
you have set a nice background image
Nothing at all
i wanted other option ...especially auto login feature
what makes roboform special ?
i have an icon in the corner of the browser ..... if i click it it ll show a drop down list of many sites for which i have stored passwords for ....... i simply click on the site i want to go ....... it goes to that site and automatically logs me in without me even clicking the log in button ....
. Manage your passwords and Log In automatically.
. Fill long registration and checkout forms with one click.
. Encrypt your passwords to achieve complete security.
. Generate random passwords to maximize password strength.
. Fight Phishing by entering passwords only on matching web sites.
. Defeat Keyloggers by not using the keyboard to type passwords.
. Back up your passwords and copy them between computers.
. Synchronize passwords between computers using GoodSync.
yeah just now chceked it works only with IE and FF
