    Default Review | Fedora 12 | Linux

As almost everybody knows, this distribution of GNU / Linux in its early days was based on the old Red Hat distributions. Now, Fedora 12 has become one of the best distributions for its ease of use, stability and quality among some of its virtues. Not forgetting that it is supported by the company Red Hat

This new version coincides in time with the release of other leading distributions like Mandriva (Review | Mandriva 2010 | Linux) or Ubuntu (Review | Ubuntu 9.10 | Karmic Koala).

This new version of Fedora incorporates new Kernel 2.6.31, Gnome 2.28, KDE 4.3 as well as better support in devices such as webcam or Bluetooth. Fedora 12 introduces also experimental support for 3D video chips AMD / ATi. This is part of the gradual change that is being done to improve the ATi Hardware support in Linux, thanks to the development of open source Drivers from the specification released by AMD.

RPM is as old as apt-get. In old days linux was based on slackware type of package management. Slackware still lives & is the oldest OS.

I am wrong bout first part but right about second part. apt on 1999 & rpm on 1995. But rpm is the most advanced & user friendly. Even user friendlier than synaptic. Thats why many ardent linux oldies didn't used to touch it. But instead preferred complex apt and slackware(the oldest one)..

History is on the move,my friends. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from distance. And those who stand in its way will not watch at all.
