Nano is a command line editor for beginner. Any one familiar with pico in unix will be surprise to find out similarity out here because it is the clone version of it by GNU with more advance features. Some of the new features in it are:
colored text,
search and replace,
scrolling by mouse, and
multiple buffers
undo/redo
go to line
go to column number
Its current stable version is 2.2.3.


Cut by typing:
Ctrl+K
Paste by typing:
Ctrl+U
For seaching
Ctrl+W <text search>

Always open using this:
nano -w filename

Because this disable word wrappings.

Exit:
Ctrl+X
Save:
Ctrl+O
Pageup:
Ctrl+Y
Pagedown:
Ctrl+V

Also if at the bottom ^ is control and M is alt.
