Just burn the iso file directly to a CD and boot from that CD after installing windows 7.

I restart, but to my astonishment a small white line started blinking on my top left corner for a very long time ... i couldn't excess Win 7 neither Mandriva nor by booting from Win 7 DVD N Mandriva CD.It consumes lots of time (I did this and that..but didn't help me) ..... So I insert Win XP and started installing it and I could see the alphabet drive letter has been change to - sign...... then after that I install Mandriva and finally ..... both my OS started working.

Now in Mandriva .. pl tell me how to establish internet connection .. it keeps on telling me to add software from software media manager.

I cannot change my desktop to 3D Desktop it ask me to install some software.

And I cannot excess my Win XP hard disk from Mandriva it gives error

And other things which I cannot remember now.... do again input your valuable suggestion.

I am attaching some screen shots which shows how to configure network, in mandriva it is very simple to configure, from the control center you can select hardware and configure your graphic server. In case any problem just post here.

You can go to Easy Urpmi and add official media and plf media then from the control centre update your graphic driver also have a look at Development/Packaging/KMS - Mandriva Community Wiki

As far as the network issue I don't understand what is wrong.

    Default Woohoo!!

Synaptic Package Manager is the best for installing packages. Also Software Manager can b used to install packages. Try Linux Mint, it is an amazing ubuntu variant!

Linux rocks more than Windows nowadays and will overtake Windows for sure the way they are going and progressing. Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) is on d verge of release and is an awesome OS! Beta version of it has already been released. Try it folks!!

Had Mandriva connect to the internet ..... through updates all the problem would have been fixed. But anyway all is well.

How to slow down my effect ... do u have any idea cause its fast ... cant see it properly. there is an option but i cannot find it.

please help me. (rep added to Matrixji)

Happy you are able to use ubuntu and internet and disappointment as you are not able to connect and update in mandriva. Anyways linux is linux not m$ and you get so many alternativies in *nix for each and every requirement.
But as far as configuration goes mandriva is still the best. Anyways good luck. Are you able configure firewall in ubuntu 10.4?

If you followed the link provided you should have find the page with add official media nad plf media and then you can select install software from mandriva control center here from the options menu you can select the media manager and select the necessary sources. In the install software screen you have to select all software not the software with GUI

In mandriva it is very easy in MCC you can select security firewall and you cann select the services to be allowed for remote access. I read from some review that doing the same in ubuntu is very hard.

I was not having any issue in opening piratebay. Can you give specific details so that I can help.
