Default What Linux'es can inside windows as app?

Sorry for being so naive, i just tried DSL linux and found it an interesting thing, it helps me keep my data hidden as a secondary O.S but i am not happy with the performance of the dsl.

I wanted something which can run faster on my slowy 2GB ram Windows 32 bit machine.
Please tell me if any other small o.s can work inside the windows as an application instance. (i dont know but maybe theres something called the QEMU which does that)..

    Thanks.

I think that Qemu is a virtual-machine environment. That would be different to running Linux as an application within Windows. How different, or better or worse, I'm really not sure. I never tried running Linux under Windows.

I run VM Virtual Box under Ubuntu, both for having WinXP and for trying out different Linuxes. I'm working on a 3.2Ghz cpu, 4Gb-ram machine, and I do notice quite a performance hit in some areas (eg slow disc access), due to the extra virtual-machine layer. Also, the virtualisation of the hardware is not complete, with deficiencies (just in my experience) in the areas of graphics and sound.

If this is all for hiding your data why don't you try trucrypt instead
    www|truecrypt|org (replace pipe with dot)

my slowy 2GB ram Windows 32 bit machine
This is not a slow configuration for virtualization! You can use VMware and install a Linux VM or Windows VM inside.
