    Default problem in opening certain sites

    i am using BSNL broadband , I have set up DSL connecttion successsfully in UBUNTU 10.10 but i face problems with certain sites such as piratebay.org and also in facebook chat. my friends say that my chat status switches from online to offline and vice versa rapidly when i use linux. what could be the prob? please help

    Check MTU value in your modem( mention model/number ). usually 1492 or lower.
    Not familair with Linux OS

    The same thing is happening to me.

    wikipedia opens in a flash, gmail isnt, youtube opening but video urls are not responding, even this site is not opening.

    Using opera turbo right now.

    torrent downloading in full speed...

    What is wrong here???

    BTW windows update is not responding, I can't open microsoft website

    Use google public DNS or Open DNS instead of automatic BSNL DNS.
