Default ONOS: the new operating system for software defined networks

ONOS is a new Linux-based operating system for software-defined networks that will open the door for innovation and creativity in the field of networking.
Software-defined networking (SDN) is a paradigm that separates the data plane and the control plane, which will give networks architects and engineers more control over the network, simplify installing new applications or upgrading existing ones.
SDN will change entirely the future of our networks, and ONOS which is the one of the widely used operating system installed on the top of the control plane will play a major role in this big transition.

Linux based systems are developing day by day. Many new Linux-based OS have been released. Linux is much more complex operating system than Windows or Mac. It ahs some advanced features, that are useful for advanced people. However the fact can't be denied that Linux OS is being adopted daily by more people.

Many of my friends are personally using Windows and some a using Linux. Both of them have their own importance and functionality. But Linux is much faster than Windows and more secure too.

I felt the necessity of start working with Linux because my academic duties demand that I need to use the best Operating System to program in C++, and Linux is really good to do that. Yes I know that there are some similar programs in Windows but Linux console makes it much more easier!

And it's much faster, starting, shuting down, and much more secure of course! But Windows has it's advantages, it is more suitable for multimedia like games for example. I hope that in the future they start to do official versions for Linux so that people start using it more and more!
