ya it works good and trust me this 8.04 is better than all other previous versions, Linux is not like windows where every new version is more messy and crappy then previous one

yes you can try it in c: it will solve your problem but thats a temp resolution, will work on it again to get more details and just for once try to boot ubuntu again and keep pressing Insert button rapidly at boot, it will generate some information please check it or post it here.
Please make sure that you already don't have more than one installation of windows on your system, like win xp in c: and win 2000 or vista in d: or anything like that

Hope it will help you, please try and update

Congratulations to all who have successfully installed Ubuntu (Wubi).
Don't be satisfied with the features that you've got by default. The fun begins only when you use the exceptional out-of-the-box features. For example, AWN (Avant Windows Navigator) is a dock that provides mac-like dock. Again, don't be satisfied with its default features. There are plenty of customizations available in AWN that are not available in a mac dock.
    Cheers!

    Pothi.

guru in screenshot just check if your this mono out is Mix or not, if it is mic then make it mix.

If this is not working then we need terminal to fix this

    first enable backports
    go to
    System>>Administration>>Software Sources

Enter password and change to the "updates" tab.

Check the box "Unsupported updates (hardy-backports)" and close the window.

It should then say that it needs to update the package lists, let it do this.

Open a terminal and enter the following.

    sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-generic

This will install a bunch of new modules, including new alsa stuff.

after this reboot and then try to check

    Good Morning
I am going to sleep now

    Hi smoothvibes,

Thank you for your concern. Do you have any applications that actually read the data from BSE/NSE and display the analysis/graph/future_predictions?

I did search the net and found few applications but all are very old and there are no updates for those softwares and there is no documentation about how to integrate those softwares with BSE/NSE. Any idea about those kind of softwares and their integration with indian share market?

    Thanks in advance.

    Pothi.

Okay. I installed Ubuntu using Wubi. Everything looks Ok. No errors. But when I restarted I got a message like this.

    BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu7) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter ‘help’ for a list of built-in commands.

    initramfs: _
    Don't know what to do.

you can use this command in terminal
    pppoeconf

it will take you to a wizard from there you can make it but as you said you are already using wifi then why are you looking for a dialer

I installed in the same Drive as XP and restarted. After restarting I clicked Ubuntu from the OS choice menu. Then an Orange loading bar appeared. After that I got this message.

    BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu7) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter ‘help’ for a list of built-in commands.
