Are there any courses which can be done online or through books?

And how successful or reliable are these courses if done online, i mean is it all legit and genuine?

dont know.. i neva heard of something like this.. but i think it will defenately will be.. as u know WWW is very big..

Most of these are not recognized. Some of them (that are run by reputed institutions) are not bad.

There are a few MBA/PGDM courses which can be done online. Your physical presence is required only for the exam. There are a few classes that you may choose to attend or ignore (once a month).

If you are not particular about online, you will find a lot of them on IGNOU. They will send you printed material.

Almost all IIMs have e-MBA courses. they are also well accepted. however, they require attending e-classes. u can check with their websites.

Thanks for the info meetdilip, but they are kind of advanced courses, im not looking for something as of that. Just want something to learn, something for self satisfaction and fun really!

You must have heard of Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL). They provide Master's degree programs.
The assignments & examinations are all online. No written work, all online.

They provide Regular Programs & Corporate Programs.

Check with local IGNOU centre. IGNOU runs all kinds of courses, advanced, diploma, certificate courses.

I heard much of AnnaMalai University..

You can buy an Annamalai university certificate for a lesser price than their study materials. Many institutions deny admission for higher studies and some embassies do not attest them.

well most of the distance learning courses as per my knowledge aint recognised as well as full time courses.

Also, there are a lot of courses being offered from a lot of uni's ..
Also IGNOU had a wide range of courses tht they offer...

Thanks for the help everyone! Im not too fussed about the course being recognized, as i have mentioned that I would not be using the course in order to pursue a career, but instead its for self achievement! And also as i like learning new things!

If you are technical minded you can do the courses like RHCE ( red hat certified engineer), SCJP, MCSE. These are world wide renown courses given cetification by Silicon Valley companies.
