    Angry We the Indians..

i took some of my friends for a very nice hotel in Uttarakhand. a place where film stars visit. these guys of mine are rich and from nice families, but when it came about etiquttes and manners, i was so dumped and sad to see them doing such things..

like for ex. they didnt asked the watchman of the hotel recreation centre that they wanna play some games, but they just pulled some rackets and went to play badminton..

and another one, where they were amusingly finding out money for tipping the hotel staff, before them..awwww,,,...

they were staying on a concessional rate( cause of my links with the hotel-proprietor)

but their behaviour was worst than small kids will do...

i am too ashamed of Indians...i feel we dont know the international manners at all.. how to sit in 4 people, how to talk and what, how to eat food, how to say words to ladies and gentlemen out there...

i have seen the class of rich people of India...purely bogus...they can buy themselves expensive things but they cant buy manners,,,....

I agree with aashu, but because of a different perspective.

What you call as manners, will appeal to some others as slavery (the international manners thing, arre bhai we are in india). Talking about what your friends did, I guess all they did was have some fun, and din't intentionally hurt anyone. I don't find anything to be angry of, in it.

Ofcourse when you go abroad its appropriate that you behave accordingly in presence of foreigners, because they are accustomed to it.

Some of how manners are indeed bad as in spitting everywhere, throwing garbage around. but someothers like not saying thank you to ur close friends or eating from same plate etc show our human bonding and not lack of manners. On the whole it can be judjed only according to situation and surroundings.

littering is a problem all around the world than some countries i would say....

i have lived in the UK n i ve seen instances where the English or Europeans, Australians, etc ve littered on the roads n in public places.... Even Malays....

Nothing can stop these ppl ....it ll b only stopped on self reaslisation....! we say thy ve rules n regulations .....but the cops there are much more cautious than Indian Cops....

that like sweety said can best be achieved through concious actions of all citizens. Naturally the problem arises because people think "everybody does it why can I", yea, it can reformed to reasonable extent by having strict laws.

But in a country abound with more serious UNSOLVED problems like increasing crime rate, murders, rapes, we seroiusly have to divert resources to important issues before manners issues can be solved.

    @aashu

i saw policemen beating a nigga for littering his homestuff in the US.

i think our police must start off on this..

more and more criminals should be hanged...and less time should be taken to resolve..

well tht i wonder when it ll happen in India..

Corrupt Politicians to Corrupt Officers, to corrupt Govt......

plus the rate of literacy is low as compared to other countries......which is one of the major reasons for such issues....!

still its been much better than it was some 5-7 years ago.

there has been things like cleanliness programs running, lot of family planning issues being sorted out.....etc etc . Above all ....literacy n lot of facilities being given....to poor & villagers

i agree with mail2sc ... but not with his violent suggestion ! police beating citizens

I am not ofcourse talking about all Indians . But majority do not behave well in public .

i dont know about "international manners" but they do lack some basic etiquettes . I think Uncle himself posted a blog entry about it "I slammed the door on a women " or something like that . No i am not suggesting that Uncle lacks manners ...... but its a issue many ppl are highlighting

i think we should get out of this third world mindset and start behaving more like globalised ppl . No i dont suggest piercing your abdomen , just be more refined in our manners ( No i am not suggesting that you are ill-mannered ).

LOL , uncle's post was concerned with his activities while he was abroad. Yep, we have got no excuse for not behaving properly abroad. But in India, we will remain as we please, albeit maintaining basic manners, and not as a "globalised " concept. Every nation hace their own mannerisms based on their culture and not all of them are common.

Only literacy cant do then Kerala would have the cleanest place in India. Go to Kochi (Biggest city of Kerala), then will come to know the Cleanliness and Literacy equation.

First we must keep our mind Clean!!! Rest all thing will come automatically

    Talking

in India what makes the difference is the peoples attitude "Chalta hai yar", "Jane de yar" this is most annoying thing....

Literacy has nothing to do with cleanliness.

i am walking on road and one stupid is spitting from bus roughly what can i do i cant chase him and beat him, i too will say "Chalta hai yar", "Jane de yar".
