Well, there are both advantages and disadvantages of online shopping. But it all depends on how trustworthy the company is and what their history is.

I have recently shopped groceries from an online shopping website and found that site very comfortable for the following reasons:


1. No travel. The items were delivered at my home.
2. Cash on delivery. Thus no blocking of money before receiving the products or paying through debit/credit card.
3. Got discounts on FMCG products
4. Earned points that I can redeem later for worthy products
5. Saved time and stress

Just have have to select the right websites to shop from. And then everything else falls in line.

Hey, thanks for sharing this information. Yes, shopping from trustworthy websites is always preferable. People normally tend to prefer online shopping because it is convenient. I normally shop from Shoppers Stop. Service is what really matters to shoppers. People need to make sure they are shopping from secured websites which offers secured payment options. Good luck!!!

What? Do you buy groceries from Shoppers Stop. They are only for garments right? What are the benefits to they have in terms of benefits to the customers. Plz give a list.

The site I am talking about is mygrahak.com. They are an online grocery store and I think among the very few in India.

We were talking in-general about online shopping. I really don't find a reason why people will shop for grocery online? If there are goods available nearer which are more cheaper, people will tend to opt for door to door shopping. With respect to benefits, they offer:

Secured payment options
Wide range of clothing, home & travel accessories, gift items and much more
Running multiple offers 24*7*365.
Currently, they are running an offer under which they are shipping all over India for free. Now, isn't it interesting?

Ok..I had no idea in that part. I have hardly shopped clothes or other products online. But I purchased groceries a couple of time and thought that I should share. For one reason people are buying groceries online are because they are cash rich but time poor. Homemakers, working couples and even I have seen males shopping groceries online. For them its a relief not to go the crowded stores and search products and carry the heavy bag back. Online grocery shopping is a better way, I think. For its saves your energy and petrol! And many sites offer discounts too - so that;s a cherry on the cake.
