Thread: Arranged versus love marriage

Both arranged marriages and love marriages can fail. Marriages that start off with love can become loveless and marriages that are pre arranged can be developed into something special.

IMO - you can learn to love someone, but a marriage is based on much more than love, it is about trust and mutual respect too.

Arranged marriage would be the worst thing a girl could ever expect. OMG! What will I ever do if I ever to be faced in that kind of danger.

Its a common thing in India... Arrange marriage is happening everywhere here.. n most girls are happy to let their parents choose their spouse... which country u belong to?

Arranged marriages are not as bad as some may think, why do you say that. I think many people think of arranged marriages as if they are forced and the boy and girl dont meet until the wedding day, which is a wrong perception.

Arranged marriage means that the bride and groom are matched up, but it doesn't mean they have to get married to each other, in todays date they both have a choice, so its not really a dieing situation.

both should be ok. If someone wants to love someone and
get married that must be ok. If they want their parents
to do the heavy lifting and find someone that should be OK too ;-)

I think it should be a choice left to the persons
getting married, unless the one they choose is
obviously an axe murderer or something.

It doesn't depend much about which type of marriages we do. It depends upon the couple and how they are true and faithful to each other.
