    Default Apple Released QuickTime 7.6

Apple released QuickTime 7.6 on 21 Jan,

which includes a number of performance, compatibility, and security updates. According to the support document for the release, the update includes the following changes:
    • Video:
    - Improves single-pass H.264 encoding quality
    - Increases the playback reliability of Motion JPEG media

    • Audio:
    - Improves AAC encoding fidelity
    - Audio tracks from MPEG video files now export consistently

    • Application Support:
    - Improves compatibility with iChat and Photo Booth
The update, which weighs in at 72.3 MB and requires OS X 10.4.10 or later and a 400 MHz G3 processor or later, also includes a number of security fixes.
personally i like vlc player to view quicktime files but when it comes to render video file in image sequence or to shrink it in a small size than no other software can beat the QuickTime............

    quicktime is a worthless player..
apple are pushing it and people are forced to have it to watch apple trailers.
i think apple should provieoptions of media player as well to view trailers!

    1) 3gp extension was introduced by qt i guess.....

    2) as far as i know ... 3gp had some sort of usage right relation with qt ... what i am trying to say is that before s/ws such as vlc etc we needed to install qt even to play a 3gp file on other softwares like real player ...

i am not quite technically sure about this thing ...

no the windows media player (WMP) wont hav any such right to viewing the 3gp content...........

we need to install a seprate codec for WMP to view the 3GP content in WMP...........

klite codec pack also contains some codec for quick time for WMP.........but i prefer to do it with the seprate one..............coz that seprate codec have more features to re encode a video in comparison to a codec from a combo pack
