MacBook - Apple Store (U.S.)
and note that there is a difference between mac book pro, mac book air and mac book.....
Macbooks are mostly popular in US they are still need to rise thier level of publicity in india
I have a Mac and they are really nice but they are a lot different than Windows. I'm a little bit in between both between Mac and Windows. I don't think you are really missing exactly too much if you don't currently have a Mac. As they can only do a few things that Windows cannot and vice versa.
Mac's are costlier (than equivalent PCs) worldwide and not just in India.
Mac's are not so popular precisely because of this reason. But it is a much better machine to use. It is sleek, sexy, mind blowing and very appealing.
Sleek mean slim, polished, neat.
Sexy means very good looking, very appealing, something you may fall in love instantly.
Walk into a PC/Laptop shop or any electrnics shop like Croma and see a Mac for yourself.
You will know what I mean.

(post add): And yes, any day better than Windows; although Windows is catching up.

They do look good looking but I think it's just as possible with a good set-up to have your Windows look good. Mac just looks overall cleaner with the reflection dock and such makes it look a lot prettier than the normal start menu on the Windows. But from me having a mac and windows there really isn't much of a difference besides looks and also the applications that each can use.
One major difference is the Mac systems dont crash as often as windows does and then there are very few viruses written for mac so its a lot more safer as compared to windows if you store sensitive data.
Other then that.. every apply product has a design that is miles ahead of all competetion.
Yea but it's fairly simple not to get a virus on a windows computer if you take the right precautions and have the extra security backing up your computer. There are problems that go around on Mac just as well they just aren't as noticable like you said. Which just like any computer you have to ensure it is secured.
56k for a macbook and 74 for a macbook pro. I think its getting popular in India now, the reason for low sales was a general peception that MB was expensive and that priated softwares were not available for it.
it is not famous in India because Indians prefer Windows on anything.
all the creative people like graphic designer, photographer, post production houses are using MAC in india since the long time. most people even doesn't know the MAC. one of the reason is lots of people doesn't afford it.
Mac systems are costlier than other equivalent system but mac is much more stable than windows based system apple mac notebook is sleek and superior machine designed give better output if you can afford it its the best deal
Apple do not care for adding new customers or heavily spending on commercials its logic includes a customer base that is devoted to the company and its brand, particularly in the United States.
All i can say is that once you use a Macbook, you will wish you had purchased one before. Unlike a PC, it is straight forward. if you are hooked to PC programs, you can easily install Microsoft Works for Mac and use Word, Excel, Spreadsheets on a mac as you would on a PC. VLC also works well on a mac. Sound quality and picture quality are awesome.
You can also use Parallels and install XP on a mac and i am sure Parallels will come out with a Windows 7 package soon.
Macbooks and iMacs are definitely costlier but the added cost is really worth the money.
walk into an apple store or croma store and go use the 27inch iMac and it will blow you away.
i own two macbooks - Macbook Pro & Air. The 27 inch iMac is next on my list.
I agree. For six months when I was in U.S , I had access to above.go use the 27inch iMac and it will blow you away.
Windows 7 also already installed for viewing some videos online .
You have to use it to experience the difference. ( I am not a software Pro )
Even Window 7 professional no match.
which I use now in a Sony Vaio VGNFw170J.laptop.
Somehow Indian users are exposed to Windows O.S from school stage itself.
Most Indian web sites say "best viewed with IE6 or above !!!)
