Default Maruti 800 and Euro IV Complience

    Guys,

I have read in newspaper that from 2010 in some cities of India there will be implementation of Euro IV norms. As I know Maruti 800 (and even Alto) are not Euro IV complient currently. So if MS will not make Maruti 800 Euro IV complient then is it that this car will be of no use where Euro IV compliance is compulsory? If Yes, then what will happen to existing 800 model cars?

    Please respond ASAP!

Euro IV compliance, when implemented, would be applicable for new registrations. It would not have much effect on existing vehicles. Even today, Earlier models, which are Euro II compliant are still allowed to run on the roads.

Maruti have started selling Omni BS IV with 800 cc engine. Why are they not adapting some similar modifications on M800 to make it BS IV compliant?

Very few customers were buying the M-800 model - the figure had dipped to sub-3000. So Maruti decided that it was not worth upgrading the engine and keep the model alive. Very soon, it will be phased out completely.

The maruti 800 is good but it is small. The capacity is of 4 members. Only it runs smooth. If you want to keep smooth running car. You should use clean petrol. And you want to do servicing of car quaterly. And you have to take care of your car.
