Default Maruti launches Upgraded Models of Swift and Swift Dzire

Maruti has recently upgraded its popular models with new K-series engine and will be revamping its entire product portfolio to meet the new emission norms. It has now launched the upgraded models of its small car Maruti Swift and sedan model Swift Dzire in India. Both the models now have the new K-series engines that are Bharat Stage IV compliant.

Maruti’s new car models are now more eco-friendly as the diesel variants of both models are also fitted with new K-series engine. the old 1.3L G-series engine is now gone. The K-series engine is tuned up and it produces 84bhp of max power and 113Nm of max torque. The model already powers other Maruti models like Zen Estilo, SX4, A-star and Ritz. The new K12 petrol engine delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.9 kilometer per liter, as against 15.9 kilometer per liter in the old engines.

The upgraded models are now costlier as the price of Swift Dzire goes up by nearly Rs. 10,000. However, price of Maruti Swift petrol remains the same. Swift qualifies for the small car excise norms as it comes fitted with 1.2L engine.

Do you know when the Alto and WagonR's engine will be upgraded with New K-Series engine. Also when these cars will have BS IV stage compliant engine.

lets hope that this year 2010 might see some improvement in these models (Alto & WagaonR)

There should have been an upgrade without price-hike.
