Default which is the best mobile broadband connection in Ulhasnagar, Thane?

    Hey guys,

I'll be heading to Ulhasnagar, Thane in a couple of days. I need your opinion regarding which is the best broadband connection in that area. Is it Reliance netconnect or tata photon?

I heard from some people that reliance doesn't have a strong coverage in Thane. Could somebody please confirm this?

And what about Tata photon? Is it worth taking the plunge? A representative of Tata said the speed would be roughly between 50 kbps and 60 kbps, which will be too slow for me!

And by the way, I need to use the same usb modem in Pune too. It would be great if anyone could enlighten me.

    Thanks!

    hey swifty,

Thanks for that tip. So I assume you are using BSNL evdo. Could you provide me more details or a weblink for it? What is the speed which you get now?

And according to you, reliance netconnect broadband will work in Ulhasnagar as well as Pune. Sounds good.

What is the activation period for both? 2-3 days or on the spot? I'll probably be going for the prepaid mode.

    Thanks.

    hey swifty,

Please send me a weblink for BSNL evdo then if you could dig it up. All I see on BSNL's homepage is Deepika doing ads.

Wired BB is better than wimax/CDMA. I will advice any wired service only. You may not have too many options. Check whatever you have in the area and then take the best.

    BSNL is good.

In remote areas if coverage permits Mobile broadband is the best .

Uses cdma infrastructure ... so if you have a mobile network in your area, expect atleast broadband speeds
    No downtimes
No technical issues so no need to deal with technicians who most of the time dont know to solve simple issues
    and its portable !

Wired isps are heavily reliant on the local infrastructure and skilled human resource .... a big disadvantage in remote areas
