Yesterday i was just thinking about the recent 3G auction held in India.. I have some questions..
River of money was flown in getting 3G license and the Govt. of India made millions of Rupees just by this auction...
Now some question arises:.
1. When the telecom operators have paid so much money on 3G auction, will they really think of going 4G too soon, before earning sufficient profits from the 3G for which they paid to the Govt.?
2. Since there werent just two or three operators but several of them, so wont the competition be tougher in getting more 3G users ? Division of Users means Division of profits..
3. Paying just about the license isnt much, Telecom operators are also made to give taxes to the govt. , thus not making the profit pie more thinner? Thinner earnings proportional to less enterprise in business.
4. I know that India has a very big user base, but itsnt it so, that millions of users are in Villages and not towns/metros and dont even have the basic commodities(like electricity to charge their phones), so wont they buy cheaper phones than 3G enabled devices, (though this isnt always true )?
5. If the present govt. led by U.P.A fails to come in power in the next elections, a non-static (in policy making terms) ministery like Telecom can change many policies that will definetly be supporting to the new Govt. , so wont that make Telecom operators to be cautious of the new rules, that may come by the new govt. of the future?..
My cited questions can lead to a common fact that lesser margins will lead the telecom operators to think not to buy 4G before accomodating the 3G profits earned by this license..
4G devices will (should be) more expensives ones than the 3Gies, so people will buy less..
These are all just my thesis,.. I felt this so wrote everything here..
Straightly i am started to feel that 4G is not little but actually too far from us now!!!!![]()
