    Default Same problem

I have same problem. This gateway issues are killing gmail, yahoo mail and other similar services. I sent them the email complaint to customer care email for this reporting this problem. Pls you send them one email as well so they don't ignore... here is the email address -> care@uninor.in

    ---------my email-------------
    Dear Sir/Madam!

I making problem report regarding your GPRS service provided to prepaid users in
Kolkata area! [I'm not sure if this problem exist for global india]

Please fix persistent issue with the "gateway timeout's". It makes Uninor GPRS internet impossible to access GMAIL, Yahoo mail web services [which using excessively "ajax" web technology and therefore breaking on Uninor's Gateway timeouts]... in other words this services and similar are impossible to use and are not working correctly. Other mobile providers like TATA.docomo... are not having issues with mentioned above! Also I found many Uninor prepaid users on internet complaining for the same. Please take this message to your technical department and resolve it ASAP as this is very BIG BIG BIG technical bug on your side and you may loose many existing and new subscribers as many users don't like this things to happen.

    Regards

    Hello again,

Its quite ago since I detected last "bad gateway error" and today I tried to switch gmail web interface from "html" to "standard [this one is gmail default and uses ajax technology]" and check what ---> it normally loads gmail web interface in other words - it seems it works now and the problem is fixed. Now Im quite happy with Uninor GPRS service as they offer highest speeds in my area comparing to next competitor tata docomo - I get most of the time cca. 27Kbps [Kilobytes/not kilobits] speed which is the highest where I stay. I tried all simcards of all mobile providers locally but Uninor beats them all at the time. This speeds available as I read vary from place to place and this my not be true for other users in other places... Best I think is to try all providers and try it to determine....

    Good Luck

    Red face

I go often to a rural area 50-60 kms north of Hyderabad on the Nagpur highway and visit a small town.
We have 2 similar smart phones (me -Nexus-S+wifey-Nexus 1)one with uninor gprs and other with Bsnl 3G.
Both are connecting in "E" only as there is no 3 G in that area .
    Uninor works better !
Even in my home in Secunderabad, some parts of the flat has poor BSNL 3g signal. Uninor Gprs loads faster than BSNL 3G everywhere in the flat.
Gprs wise -Iam sticking with Uninor for the last 6-7 months @ Rs 98/6G/month.
