Thread: Problem with new - Huawei Umg1831 3g usb modem

Hello forum,

I got new 3g usb modem - Huawei Umg1831(21MBPS). I am able to configure and connect properly. modem starts working properly and works on 3G(i am using BSNL sim).

After about 5 min, modem starts getting disconnected and re-connected after about every 15 seconds. I also observed it's getting abnormally heated.

Can somebody guide why it would be happening? I am worried as it's brand new. I bought it online from rediff shopping, and as per the webpage, it shows it has 1 year warranty.

Please help.

I am also using the same one, it gets Hot , YEs it does, bt Not dat hot so dat i cud get damaged ..
and U can also use some temp check device if u r into hardware, otherwise, Email Rediff regarding this issue, u they will send u a new one .
