Hi All,
I am travelling to India (Kolkata) for a period of 2 months, and would like to sign-up for prepaid 3G. I have narrowed my choices down to either BSNL or Vodafone.
I already have a 3G-capable phone (Google/Samsung Nexus S), so I just need a SIM card.
I am quite familiar with the technology aspect of how to make this work, but completely clueless as to how to sign-up. The vodafone and BSNL websites don't help much.
Can someone please help answering these questions?
1. In order to sign-up for prepaid 3G, do I need to also sign-up for 2G first?
(or will the 3G service include 2G service?)
2. Exactly what documents are needed to sign-up for 3G service?
Also, can someone help as to exactly how to sign-up process works?
3. I need a plan which can do approx 500MB for 30 days... (3G preferred, with automatic fallback to 2G if 3G coverage is not there)
4. Finally, between BSNL and Vodafone, which one is considered more reliable (I did some searches, looks like BSNL is the winner, but can some one tell if signing up for BSNL is painless or is it a nightmare) ?
Many, many thanks in advance!
