Thread: Is there an unlocked usb dongle available in the market ?

I just now bought airtel 3G sim card in chennai.

I am looking forward to buy an unlocked usb dongle to use 3G with my laptop.

Can someone please suggest what are the models available and their prices?

p.s Im looking to buy an unlocked usb dongle because I can use it irrespective of 3g providers

Are you using alcatel usb modem ?

One of my friend is planning to purchase alcatel x220 ( @7.2mbps DL) for 1776rs, so just wanted to know whether there any issues with modem......
Huawei 7.2mbps DL modems are priced in between 2000-2400.

My friend has purchased alcatel x220 3g datacard but i didn’t like this data card.
Pros:
1)Creates profile automatically
2)Good speed
Cons:
1)No USSD ( huawei/micromax/lava 7.2mbps data cards have USSD)
2)No voice call feature ( lava/huawei 7.2mbps data cards have voice call feature)
3)You cannot reset statistics ,this sounds ridiculous
