    Default whats 3g and all?

    hey guyz
i'm a total noob when it comes to 3g. i have recently purchased an s2 and want to use net on it. i have wifi at home however sometimes i go out of the house and in any case i'll be moving to college in a few days. so whats the deal? do you have to get a data card or anything? also who provides the best speed with max usage in delhi circle. sorry for posting in this forum(if moderator wants remove it to another forum), but i'll probably have wifi in the college as well but still i want a good high usage plan. estimate a usage of 5gb pm perhaps . never used so can't really estimate the usage. thanks in advance!

You can use it either in your mobile or a data card inserted to PC. I think MTNL is cheapest in Delhi. Check here :

For data cards, check here :

I'm also an ignorant caveman when it comes to 3g. I have not used mobile phone for anything other than talking. When they say 3g for mobile phone it is for the internet connection on the phone? And they want it really fast too?

    @ harjassingh

The same SIM can be used in both phone and data card. You can insert it into phone or data card as per your need. It is just like changing SIM in a mobile phone.

@ Mickey is using MTNL 3G in Delhi. He seems to be happy with. Contact him for more details or post in MTNL 3G forum as your question is best answered by someone in Delhi.

If you want augmented bandwidth, multiple mobile applications and clarity of digital signals, then 3G (Thrid Generation Technology) is your gateway. GSM technology was able to transfer circuit switched data over the network. The use of 3G technology is also able to transmit packet switch data efficiently at better and increased bandwidth. 3G mobile technologies proffers more advanced services to mobile users. It can help many multimedia services to function. The spectral efficiency of 3G technology is better than 2G technologies. Spectral efficiency is the measurement of rate of information transfer over any communication sytem. 3G is also known as IMT-2000.
