    Question 3G or landline broadband

Dear Friends, I just joined forum. I need your advice
I purchased Micromax352 datacard from market and Idea 3G sim, but Rs. 2000 gone in four days excluding MM352 cost. My son is playing games, whether 3G is suitable for him or bsnl 2G normal mobile sim can be used for some unlimited scheme if available(how should he register for 2g bsnl sim in Lucknow UP east). Should I go for landline broadband (i do not have landline phone so new connection will be required). Also suggest for better options available

so i am guessing you want an unlimited connection.
landline is good for you. both airtel and bsnl have something for you.
Reliance would be expensive but good for your gaming son.

Not really getting an idea from your post. you have many things in your mind.
    1. you can take a landline bb connection of varying speeds depending kind of money you can spend.
    2. you can take a 2G bsnl sim and work it on an unlocked modem and get 150+ kbps speeds.(sorry not aware of situations about bsnl u.p east- edge was working fine when i was recently in lucknow though but didnt checked with 3G modem there)
    3. you can take any 2G internet from docomo, airtel, bsnl, idea etc.. they are all giving some ~2Gb on 90-100/- range.. but the speed would be max 10KBps.
    4. you can take an expensive Reliance connection but i am not aware of support in Lucknow. you can use your cdma reliance as an internet connection, ask them for any Unlimited kind of pack.. usually they charge 60 paisa day - 40 paisa night as default which is not good.

so untill and unless you give a clear idea about what you want, i can just confuse you evermore..

    hey forgot to mention evdo..

    Default Dear Mickey

Dear friend Thnkyou for information and addition to my knoledge. My son want more downloading i.e. about 10 GB size games and play online games also. His own criteria for Speed is "mann se tez ho" how to convert it to KBPS........lol...... but as I discussed with my another friend for downloading this much big files with landline broadband (maximum 256kbps) will take quite long time and 3g is the only option. I can go for about 700/- per month.

Can not comment on the source of information of your friend.

But wired broadband delivers minimum 256 kbps speed, not maximum.

GSM 3G, particularly indoors, would give only burst speeds and average speed would not be very high. And only MTNL has true unlimited plans.

You can go for EVDO (CDMA 3G), but other than BSNL, no operator gives true unlimited plans.

ULD 900 has 8GB FUP. After that speed will dip to 256 Kbps. Try UL 750 or UL 1350.

Check details here: .:Unlimited Home Only:.
