Hey guys i c no discussion on vodafone netcruise...is there any user who can throw some light on it
netcruise is a service by voda which acc to the custmr care guy is placed smwhr b/w 2g n 3g...nt sure but i think its cdma...
I tried it at voda store...i got dwnload speed of abt 187kBps...(1.5 mbps) n the store guy was numb coz he was chanting that we at deliver the best n u r bound to get the offered speed...
the speed was half the xpectd speed at voda xperience zone wonder wat will happen at some place else
its actually rebranded MTS MBlaze service.
the network is of MTS.
the customer servicing is by Voda.
don't know the revenue sharing model.
ah dats y he was telling me abt collabration with mts...but dont u think voda has better ntwrk than mts?
you are talking about two different technologies here.
EVDO = CDMA 3G version
provider - BSNL, MTS, RELIANCE, TATA INDICOM.
only MTS give OMH SIM that works on any modem. BSNL SIM works on select modems. REL and TATA gives locked modem without SIM
works on 800 mhz band - lower peak speed, higher average speed, higher speed indoors
HSDPA/WCDMA = GSM 3G
provider - BSNL GSM, REL GSM, TATA DOCOMO, AIRTEL, VODAPHONE, IDEA
SIM would work on any modem. but most pvt co. artificially locks modem.
works on 2100 mhz band - higher peak speed, lower average speed, lower speed indoors
The govt allotted 2100 mhz band for GSM-3G. due to higher frequency there would always be penetration issues for indoor use even though one gets bursts of high speeds.
Effectively Vodafone is trying to leverage both options. It already has an an agreement with Airtel and Idea to use their 3G network in cities where Vodafone does not have 3G licence (even though TRAI has raised strong objection to this). Now it is trying to tap into the benefits of EVDO through this arrangement.
