Post 3g usb modem(without CRC9) and increasing signal power. any antenna or tricks works?

Idea 3G coverage is 1 or 2 point here yet I get good speeds. however, I read there are antennas exists which can help. but this modem does not have a "CRC9" antenna connection option. I read there are tricks like using a aluminium foil covered cd and fixing the modem in the spindle hole and using extension cable and point to the tower direction helps? but I tried this and it seems not working.

another trick read is, using a half cut pet bottle and covering it with aluminium foil and placing the modem inside. not sure.
Is there any other option exists? ebay India used to have a supplied which sold antennas whose end sticks to the body of the modem with a clamp like thing. not any more?
    Any other option exists?

e303c is the best modem I have ever used. good antenna coverage and rarely gets disconnected. I use a 2meter USB extension cable(of good quality) and it helps. e303D Idea netsetter is not unlockable yet.

by the way, I am using Linux OS and this modem gets detected and I can connect in 2-3 seconds. perhaps, using Windows Networking tool(if any) to configure a connection for this modem rather than using Huawei dialer. only thing useful is RSSI meter(Signal strength displayed).

If your getting good enough speeds then why do you want to have some kind of antenna to help with speeds?

Use a wireless signal repeater, which should boost up the speeds.

Stop wasting your time and energy on trying to create a fix. There isint any and if there is it would look ugly and would require constant attention. I would suggest gettin a dwireless wifi router for your 3g modem and just place it at a spot which gets better signal. That is what I have done and it works like a charg. Some places I only get a 5mbps link ot my router but thats more then enough for a connection with max throughput of 2.5mbps.

Move your router around in your room to find a spot where you get the best signal. Because if you do anything else apart from this then there is no point a like you said your getting good speeds. Dont waste time or make things worse.

the problem is, I get good speeds in the room where i have desktop pc. I am using a usb extension cable to get signal(2 bars). however, with my laptop, the result is not really good especially when you carry it around.

only thing working for me is usb extension cable(around 2 meters) through which I put the modem near the window of my room and it is working for desktop pc.
I am wondering whether Huawei e303c modem has a concealed CRC9 port like this. if so, I can buy a 3g antenna with CRC9 port.

I am not sure if it does. I dont have that modem. As I said before your best bet is to buy a wifi router that supports your modem and then just place it at the spot where you get max signals and you would not have to worry about moving around again.

No there is no hidden slots and Admins suggestion seems like the best option.
