Guys what are the charges of call and sms in India?

im just curious

On an average you could say its Rs 1 per min both national and local but really depends on what plan you take.

SMS are the same as well I think I dont use sms so no idea.

Well i use mostly sms so i use package which takes Rs.150+tax and gives 5000 sms's

I have a Reliance Post-paid connection...

Rent Rs. 440/Month + Rs. 60 SMS Pack + Rs. 49 local calls pack.
Therefore, total rent = Rs. 549/Month

Free UNLIMITED calls on any Reliance phone all over India.
1000 SMS free/Month
Local calls on other networks- Rs. 0.49/minute
National calls on other networks- Rs. 1.50/minute

P.S.- I've too many Reliance contacts from my family and friends... So, it's worth it!

Thats very good rates ....and hey now i pay Rs.120/month for sms/mms so bit progress made in these few months..

And about calls its Rs.75 paisas/30 sec anywhere in country

theres a smaller user number in Pakistan as compared to India, but still small rates what can be the reason???

Obviously if u compare no. of users with India its very less,but if u see Pakistan's population and users than its very good figure.

As of June 2009 there are 94.3mil users in Pakistan and population is about 160mil,so its 58.20% of population according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

hmmm very good ratio

thats why i am asking whats the reason behind no. of users and costs...

The reason is alot competition between 5 mobile companies operating here.
