    Its RIM to RIM.

Its difficult to find such packages in the prepaid segment. Most of the providers give away STD packs in postpaid.

As of now there are two options,

1> If duration per call is high,
Reliance pre-paid connection with Rs.39 STV (valid for 30 days)
First minute of each call : local Call Re.1/STD Rs.1.50
second minute onwards for each call : local/STD 50p
    Valid for all operator.

2> Duration per call is low
    Virgin Prepaid default plan
Local Call per day : First 3 min per day : Re.1, from 4th min per day 50p
    STD per day: First 3 min per day Rs.1.50, 4th min - 33rd min 50p, 34th min onwards Rs.1.50

    @ cool techie
RIM Prepaid Rs.496 is no longer available for new customers. only old customers can recharge and continue.

When taking a new connection only the cost of the handset comes into play. The rest are provided for free. If u are opting for a postpaid connection, then u will have to pay the security deposit too.

Yes it is available with lifetime plans too.

If interested please get in touch with the nearest Reliance Web World for further info.

As cool techie already has indicated in R-CDMA, in case of new connections, u only pay for the handset and the connection comes free.
The above indicated tariffs are applicable for lifetime also as long as u make a STV (special tariff voucher) recharge of Rs.39 every 30th day. Pl. remember that the STV only entitles to the tariff plan and actual usage would be adjusted against normal talk-time balance available in your account.

Checkout with Vodafone CC. I used to make STD calls @ 1/- per minute some months back by recharging for 50/-. This offer was valid for 30 days only.

here is the consolation offer from Reliance for other circles, but u need R-CDMA at both places,

    STD+Local R-CDMA 2 R-CDMA Prepaid Pack
    1. Rs 2222/- 500Mins Every Month For 1Year
    2. Rs 4444/- 500Mins Every Month For Lifetime (can only be used on a pre-existing lifetime connection)

Heres the calculation as I see it,
    for 1.
new connection cost Rs.199 (comes free if u buy the handset)
    Lifetime voucher Rs.550 (one-time cost)
recharge amt. 2222 less tax @12.36% net value 1977 for 6000 On-net min in one year. i.e. around 33p/min.

    for 2.
    Lifetime pack 199
    Lifetime jadoo 550
500Mins Every Month For Lifetime 4444
Total upfront payment : 199+550+4444=5193 for 13x12=156 mths (balance License Period)
Assuming ROI @ 12%, the per mth cost comes to Rs.67 for 500 on net minutes i.e. around 13p/min.
[Other call rates, Local calls to any network Rs. 0.50, STD calls to any network Rs. 1.00, All Incoming & Outgoing calls while roaming Rs. 1.00]

But considering the scenario of mobile rates in India, I would advise for first option only.
(offer available till 31st March only)
