Be ready for a change in the mobile phone numbers in India, a the mobile numbers are going to change and you will see new numbers which will start with 8 instead of 9.
The reason for this is that all number starting with 9, from 90 / 91 / 95 / 96 / 97 / 98 / 99 have been allotted to usrs. And as far as it goes for number beginning with 92/93/94, well those have been reserved by Tata Indicom, Reliance Mobile and BSNL. This would mean there would then be a huge variety of numbers which will start with 8 and will replace 9 for mobile numbers, but for those who already have number starting with 9, they will still remain so fear not!
