Government is considering allowing sharing spectrum between two mobile operators, which is said to be beneficial to both the existing and new telecom operators. Spectrum is radio frequency which is required by the cellular operators to offer wireless mobile services. The new telecom operators have to compete with the existing players who have been already allocated 10-12 Mhz spectrum in comparison to 4.4 Mhz spectrum. If it is allowed then with combination of the two could lead to a spectrum of 8.8 Mhz which will help in reducing infrastructure cost and better quality service. This is being seeing as a help to the existing telecom operators who have requested to grant additional spectrum as there subscribers were increased
