There is another company coming into the mobile service provider market and this time it is a known company unlike brand new companies. The name is Videocon a known household brand name who will be in the mobile market but under the name of Datacom.

With Videocon (Datacom) coming into the celluar market there will more competition and that too from this month. Videocon (Datacom) will be launching their service firstly in Mumabi as of February 20th 2010 and then within 18 months they will cover the whole of India.

Videocon was given a license to provider their mobile services in early January 2008, but there were still decisions to be made and now the time is here and the launch of their cellular services will begin from February 20th 2010.

For Videocon to change the name of their mobile service provider to Datacom they invested Rs9,000 crore which they are hoping will become much more profitable in the coming years something between 3 - 5 years.

As told by Videocon President and Vice Chairman Pradeepkumar N Dhoot Videocon (Datacom) will be using towers on rent as this works out to be very cheap and affordable.
