Lightbulb Did you know your messages will be limited to 100/day?

If you are reading this, I presume you text, and you text a lot! You sure know those cheap and lucrative SMS packs are for you... I don't have to tell you... 10,000 messages a month, or 500 a day, just at a mere payment of Rs. 99/month. Well, now begins your nightmare... people have misused these SMS packs to advertise, and other people have complained. So TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) decided to act dumb, and they have ordered all the telecom operators in India to limit their SMS packs to just 100/day (with effect from 1 March 2011), which both you and I know, isn't enough for us.

So what happens if I cross this limit? You'll be charged normal rates, as per your plan. Yes, Re. 1 (or let's say 50 Paisa) for just one message.

And yes, if you think things don't work like this in India, then they never will !!

I am so fed up with spam sms that I support anything that reduces it.

They should go after the bulk mailers, though, first.
