Default Android Phone with a budget of Rs25000

I am thinking of buying a new phone, but not sure as to which one I should buy. I requirements are that the phone should be Android, have HD camera and recording, at least 8MP camera, and cost no more than Rs250000. If its a good enough phone and is worth it I can exceed the cost limit slightly. There is no brand in specific, but I would not like local brands.

You may go for Nexus 4. IMO, it's the best phone in that budget currently.

What phone would you compare it with, as in similar to which model? What's the cost for this?

With that huge budget you mentioned, u need not ask the forum. Search the internet and just pick up a great phone. Or else go to a big store and they will help you too.

I have asked the forum members because I will get unbiased advise unlike the sales people of a big store who will always just lure you into the phone which will give them the most commission...Members on the forum all have different phones, so its good to know reviews of the phones they know about or have used. This is the internet for me, where I know and find out about not only phones, but anything tech.

By the way that's what forums are for, asking advise about products and getting reviews on them.

How many phones are you looking to buy in that budget 2.5lakh is a lot for one phone

Jokes apart, I use a Samsung Note (the old one) and it would cost you about 27k I think or may be less now. Its a good phone and I do not regret my purchase. It has a massive screen and that allows you to do a wide variety of tasks. It is now considered an old phone but the screen quality is impressive and also I have never experienced any lag while using the phone.

Then google would be the place where you get all the answers of your queries with photos too. Yes of course you can ask the forum always but with that kind of budget you will get the best phone whatever brand you buy I think. If you had just 10K in your pocket then there were many options to choose and the forum would have suggested you appropriate ones. But man you have 250K! I don't think too many phones are out there with that price.

I just checked on Flipkart and my phone Samsung galaxy note N7000 is listed at a price of Rs 22999

I believe it is much much better then the grand and also Grand is much thicker then Note. iPhone 4 8gb is also well within your budget of 25K. There are so many other phones within that range. You will be spoiled for choices. HTC 1X is another one you could look at. Try comparing the specs and pick the best one. Note 2 is also not that much out of your budget just another 2k and you can get a Note 2 which looks very convincing.

If you do decide to buy the Samsung Note or Note 2 then you dont need a phone and you dont need a tablet because it serves both the purposes but there is another problem if you look at it other way... You dont have a phone because its more like a tablet in size and you dont have a tablet because its much smaller then a tablet so you have neither really and if you want a cross between a phone and a tablet then this is the perfect choice. This is the reason I got it. It is pretty big and would need getting used to.

You can get Google Nexus 4 for under Rs. 25 K at local stores. Ummm other Android phone in the same price would be HTC One X. However, it comes with the older Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android.

Samsung Galaxy Grand is a bit cheaper but the processor is dual core; same processor is in Samsung Galaxy Note.

That's the reason I'll still recommend that you go for Google Nexus 4. It is pre-installed with latest Android version, Jellybean 4.2. Also, it comes with a powerful Quad core processor (1.5 GHz), 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Internal memory. The rear camera is 8 MP and it can record at Full HD. The only downside is that it doesn't have expandable memory slot. So if you can't manage in 16 GB, it is not for you. It has 1 year LG India warranty.

Galaxy note has gorilla glass and the screen resolution is far better. I have held both the phones one in each hand and the grand feels "less posh" Or you could even call it cheap. The price difference is not a lot either.

Of course Note is better than Grand.

Did they release Jellybean update for Note yet? I believe it is pre-installed with Android version 2?

Ah.. then it's Jellybean.. Good for you.. They should release 4.2 for Note soon. The beans do make a difference.

The best thing I like about Android is that I dont have to connect the cable to computer for anything as everything is automatic even the OS upgrades are all automatic and there is very little down time. The applications I need just need a few clicks on the computer and they get downloaded on the phone even before I unlock it. Dont think it could get any better then that with any other operating system. Ease of use

So there is the Nexus 4, Samsung Grand or Samsung Note. I have seen a lot of people with Samsung phones, they are quite popular and must be doing good in the market for people to choose them over many other phones.
