Default Using Paytm to recharge your mobile

How safe is Paytm? I want an easy way to recharge my phone and have heard a lot of good things as well as bad things about Paytm, and quite confused whether I should use it or not. Anyone else using Paytm please give some input.

You may have heard of the odd problems, but then that is with every service or product, for some it works out fine and for some there are problems. For me personally Paytm services work fine.

I use Ngpay for my recharges and never had a problem. I haven't used Paytm so cannot comment on their quality of service.

Paytm is good and trust worthy website. It recently got license to setup a payments bank in India. It is also giving some offers and nice cashback. I faced a problem once, as I lost internet connection while I was recharging. But they gave it back in Paytm cash.

Thanks for your candid feedback. In fact I was looking for Paytm to recharge my mobile, but I was somewhat skeptical to use their service. I also checked on Internet for reviews and got a number of good feedback about Paytm recharge. General view is that they are quick in returning the money in case of any issues in transaction.

I think Paytm is also a shopping site, but I never used it. There are a lot of negative reviews about their shopping venture though. One of the important factors pointed out was lack of a proper policy guidelines for sellers there.

I have been using paytm recharge service for about 3 years without any issue. also bought several items. also use paytm for uber rides. I even used paytm wallet to buy online from dominos and ebay. I have also transferred money to my friends through paytm. initially it was just recharge portal. then it got a mobile wallet licence. then it also added the activity of a e-market place and then tied up with uber.

the recharge process is very fast and they often run cashback offers. the market place is also reasonably good. I have purchased microwave, kindle reader, portronics speakers and household articles. they gave very good caskback on all of them. as long as you buy branded products, there is no problem. the only problem I faced was with one kitchen item that was unbranded.

Shopping venture of Paytm is not that good. But, we can expect it to be better in near future. Paytm has not given proper guidelines to the sellers and also is not clear about return policy. It is a new born in online shopping and is learning baby steps. If you want to shop at Paytm, go for a seller with high rating and reviews. That's the best advice I can give.

That is really good to know that you are satisfied with their service. Why did you choose them for shopping? Are they cheaper or there is any other factor that attracted you? How fast is the delivery of goods?

@shourya119, we cannot rely too much on feedback and rating these days. In another forum I read a news that most of the reviews are fake and created by the sellers themselves just to attract buyers. Anything is possible on net. The only thing we can do is to stick with a good and established shopping site like eBay or Amazon. They are very prompt and will return the money in case of an issue with product.
