A firend of mine uses Samsung dual SIM handset. No idea about the model number - I think it is D780. It is a slide-in/out type handset and costed him nearly 13K some 4 mths ago. It has Edge, Blue Tooth, FM, etc. as well as good camera. I have heard good things about the handset from him.

D880 is a slider Dual and D780 is one without slide.... my take.. do not opt for sliders.
780 is a good one.. must be cheap .

I just checked with my friend. He has D-880. It is quite good he says. Just a little demanding on battery.

Due to an ongoing legal issue, Manufacturers/Importers are presently banned from bringing Multi-SIM phones into India by the Chennai High Court. So only those sets that are currently with wholesellers/retailers are available for purchase.

However, u have not specified whether u need GSM+GSM or GSM+CDMA dual phone.

My dear the court has stayed the decision as they have appealed in superme court. anyways the company will pay 35Rs for each phone, which all can afford

I havent actually seen a dual sim phone or know of anyone who uses one, so let me get this right! You insert both sim cards in the phone, which both allow incoming calls and messages, but you can only call and send messages using one sim card.....is that right?

actually, if it supports dual standby, you select one no. as the default no. for fast dialing but you can even select which no. to call/sms from every time you make a call or send a sms.
Dual sim phones com in two modes GSM+GSM and GSM+CDMA
I myself use Fly v80i which is a basic CDMA+GSM dual standby phone with color screen and FM. It costed me 3900/-

I don know why are you going for branded(for me branded means only Nokia SE and moto) where there are none in Indian market. My friend user Rage Mobiles one model. It has gprs mms music player and camera and also other nice modern features as well. The phone is around 5k. I think its a good buy too. And you get 1year warranty. Atleast i was impressed by the phone. If not Nokia even than the phone worths buying. I liked the model for its durability. And dual sim is nice feature.he maintains two girlfriends with the phone so kinda useful.

    Default Maxx

There is a new phone in the market named MAXX

    Review.

This is the cheapest phone i have seen with all these features.

    -- Colour Handset

    -- Bluetooth

    -- Memory card support

    -- MP3

    -- FM Radio

    -- VGA Camera

    -- Touch screen

    -- Dual SIM

    -- 1 year International Warranty.

This phone has been launched recently and is getting good market attention. As I know in almost 250 handsets sold till now only 1 has come with a problem of memory card not working and memory card was exchanged by the company.

Very good handset at very good price.

Price of this handset it 2500 INR (at my place)

I've not met anyone like that till now.

Seriously, I am not argumentative, I can only think
    of nefarious reasons for that.
