My Mobile Phone, My Friend

Mobile phones have become a necessary thing now. A college guy whether he carries the books to the college or not, but he always has a mobile with him.

The first mobile phone I had was Nokia 2100 (blue one). I bought it in the 2002. This phone was very special to me as my father gifted it to me. I still remember that day. It was a very cute phone. It was a popular phone during that time. I always used to play the snake game in that. Then I wanted to have a color mobile.

Then I bought Sony Ericsson k750i in august 2005 & I am using it till now. I bought this mobile phone using my first salary. It was such a wonderful feeling. I wanted a music phone with camera. After a research of almost 1~2 months, I decided to go for k750i. I bought it for Rs 11,000 (inclusive of 1 GB card). Music phone, 2 MP camera, 1 GB card…all for Rs 11,000 was a pretty good deal. When it comes to music phones, Sony Ericsson is the best. Nothing can beat it. I dint have any problem with the phone till last month. The joy stick is not working (its working sometimes & not working sometimes). When I try to call some1,it wrongly call someone else. I find difficulty in scrolling down the messages. It’s a bit irritating.

I currently thinking of buying a new phone. I am waiting for this Nokia touch phone. It will be available in India in the beginning of next year. Its costs around 21,000~22,000. I will look for its reviews before buying it. I have few mobiles in my mind like Nokia N78, N86 & N96. But they (Nokia N85 & Nokia 96) are a bit costly. Can’t afford that much for a mobile phone. My father will kill me. What ever new phone I buy. I will surely have the SE k750i with me forever. Not as a phone but as a MP3 player.

In between Nokia 2100 & Sony Ericsson I was using Nokia 1600 for a month.

even i remember this phone, my first phone was Nokia 3610 white one
I really enjoy snake game in collage time and most of the times on the last bench and sometimes in guest lectures

My first phone was 3610 and after that 3220 and now from last 2 years i am using nokia 3230

I am not big into phones. whatever works for making and
receiving phone calls. I don't even do any text or sms.

I had some brand phone first and then I had a Motorola startac,
then I had a Nokia something, then a sony ericsson something,
currently have a sony ericsson w580i or something like that.

My first cell phone was Nokia 3210 way back in 1999. This was gifted to me by the project manager of the company I did the project at Abu Dhabi. It was a good phone. In those days there were no colour phones. The cell charges were extremely high. Outgoing was Rs. 4.40 pm while incoming was half of that. Things changed around 2001 when incoming became free. It was because of the high cell charges that the concept of "missed call" and "SMS" arose.

Then in 2003, I purchased my new phone, Nokia 3650, for Rs. 22K. This was the second camera phone to be launched worldwide (Nokia 7650 was the first). I still have this phone and it works beautifully. The concept of multimedia arrived with this phone as it had camera, Real Music Player, GPRS/MMS support, images, voice/video recording, etc. It also supported voice dialing. The 7650 and 3650 were the first phones (in the world) that featured these functions.

In Jan, 2004, I purchased Nokia 6610 for my wife. I sincerely believe that this is THE BEST phone from the Nokia stable. Extremely sexy in shape and size, it has the right features for a pure phone.

In April, 2005, I purchased the O2 XDA IIi, a PDA+phone. As a PDA, it was excellent. As a phone, it leaves a lot to be desired. But it makes heads turn even now. Only the Nokia Communicator could compete with this at that time.

Currently I use the Nokia 1100 and O2 XDA IIi.

Well I got my first mobile when I was in First Year of College....2001 which was a Lg sleek n small Handset....My dad got it for me n I used to love to flaunt it as amongst my frens I was the first one to get a mobile...!

Yes it has been a necesscity .... !!!! Personally, I ve stopped using Landlines....after I got mobile phones...!!! I rarely use a landline....but since calls abroad became cheap on mobiles its almost like neva!!!!

After this Lg phone, I got a Nokia 1200 when I went to UK in 2004..... which I am still using! Same year I got another LG celfone.....! In 2005, I bought 2 Nokia 6680's for my dad n my brother n a SE K750i for my own self.....

I used SE for quite sumtime n I m soo much in love with that phone....n sumhow tht fone got lostt......! than I bought a SE W810i about 1.5 years back....June 2007!!!! but i still my K750i.....

I wanted to but the Samsung Karoake phone about a month back but I feel after using SE sleek fones its no fun using any other brand...!!!!

I love using a Nokia 1200 as its very sturdy n has been dropped n fallen on the ground soo many times...but like a true fren its always been wid me.....similarly.....SE w810 i has also been there!!!!
I m intending to buy a new phone but has to b a really nice one wid all the spec like w810i n k750i.....!!!! looks shud b sleek batt to be lasted n lots of things....!!!

The more expensive mobile phone you have, the more careful you got to be....
One of my colleague, he lost around 6 mobile phones in the last 4 years..

well i dodnt think so....mine one i lost sumwhr it slipped off from my purse.....!!!!i really wonder how?? but yes even a fren of mine lost 6 phones in the year 2008.....!

A guy losing a Nokia N 96 would be more upset than a guy losing Nokia 1100..

ya tell me abt it, i lost my 3310 when i was in 10th, i was so happy that i m gonna get new one. but guess wat that 3310 got home delivered by the founder( my dads colleague)

My 1st phone was the big & sturdy Nokia 5110 in the yr 2000... One of my friend who went abroad in 2002, returned with a Nokia 3330 and gifted it to me... In june 2004, I purchased Nokia 6610 & like J4X, I still b'lieve its the best ever I used... I used it till 2007 until it swam in my pocket in the Arabian sea at Kashid beach... lol.

I was hard on cash at that time... & I went on to buy Sony Ericsson's J121i... Though cheap(Rs. 2000), it came with a radio and a handsfree... I must admit SE phones are extremely good & handy...

I was happy with it... but someone special in my life wasn't... and cuz of her persuasions I had to buy Nokia N73 Music Edition this yr in April... Its my 1st camera phone but I rarely use its camera...lol

Personally, I've always been comfortable with not so flashy phones... cuz I believe any basic phone can solve the purpose of phone conversation & SMS... For camera purpose, I use Sony's 8 MP digi-cam... For music I use my PC & 7.1 channel speakers... For movies, I use laptop and headphones... Feeling comfortable is the name of the game for me!

Right now, apart from Nokia N73, I'm using a basic LG handset RD3000 (Rs. 1250) for my reliance no.... Its a post-paid plan with RIM2RIM free all over India... Any reliance users here?

how can someone lose so many phones and that too in one year, he must be really irresponsible and stupid!

Congratulations Ramesh How do you find it?

I was using SE k750i for the past 3 years. It will take some time for me to get used to this N79. Currently I am exploring the mobile,reading the manual, etc. I have called my cousin (he is using N95) to help me in understanding N79. He will there any moment.
